We drove to Tucson on Monday and set up camp at Davis-Monthan AFB. Bill's good friends, Linda and Fred Paavola, spent the day showing us the sights. The visit to Saguaro National Park was fabulous and generated a picture-taking frenzy.
Today was another "on the road" day. We headed out of Tucson and pointed the coach toward Roswell, New Mexico. The trip was long and resulted in a few cranky moments. From Tucson to Las Cruces was freeway all the way but filled with trucks. Sometimes trucks were the only things we could see. The dust and wind warnings that dot the desert road systems were here in abundance.
Leaving Las Cruces, the road led us up into the mountains once again. We went through the White Sands Missile Range, the Mescalero Apache Indian reservation and the alien landscape of Roswell. No sightings yet but we remain hopeful.
Tomorrow we will be exploring Roswell and then heading to Sante Fe and Taos. No aliens there ..... just artists..... Scary.....
glad you guys are having so much fun. hopefully austin is in your road trip plans at some point.
